1 out of 5 stars GAME CLOSING. DO NOT BUY!   December 13, 2008

I bought this game for a steal at something like 96 cents. I was thinking, well this isn't a very well known game, and the idea sounds good. After researching the game, it sounded like a good way to spend some time. The plot was very intriguing.

Only after installing the game, and going online did I find out that they are shutting down all the servers for this game in February 2009, only 2 months after I install it. What a scam. Let us know that the game is closing BEFORE we spend money on a friggin coaster.

4 out of 5 stars Never got the attention it deserved.   December 12, 2008

I'm glad I got the chance to play this game for a few months. The story was great fun and the gameplay was unique to the MMO genre.

The servers are shutting down in February 2009, so check the game website for the latest news. Richard Garriot crafted a wonderful game before departing the development team after a year of live service. The GMs in this MMO have been the most fun to play with and offered the best service I've received in game.

This game is still worth playing and can be played solo.

4 out of 5 stars It was fun while it lasted...   December 12, 2008
I really enjoyed this game. End game content was lacking, PvP was not fleshed out as well as I would like but in the end it was a fun MMO - IMO. Exciting combat, nice world design, friendly GM staff & player base, new and interesting game events, and good story arc.
Sadly this game is set to be canceled on Feb 28th 2009. This means you will not be able to play anymore, so keep that in mind if deciding to pick TR up.

4 out of 5 stars RIP Tabula Rasa   November 26, 2008

[...]

"Last November we launched what we hoped would be a ground breaking sci-fi MMO. In many ways, we think we've achieved that goal. Tabula Rasa has some unique features that make it fun and very different from every other MMO out there. Unfortunately, the fact is that the game hasn't performed as expected. The development team has worked hard to improve the game since launch, but the game never achieved the player population we hoped for.

So it is with regret that we must announce that Tabula Rasa will end live service on February 28, 2009.

Before we end the service, we'll make Tabula Rasa servers free to play starting on January 10, 2009.

We can assure you that through the next couple of months we'll be doing some really fun things in Tabula Rasa, and we plan to make staying on a little longer worth your while. For more details about what we are doing for Tabula Rasa players, please click here.

Stay tuned for more information. We thank you for your loyal support of the game and encourage you to take us up on the benefits we're offering Tabula Rasa players.

The Tabula Rasa Team"

1 out of 5 stars pay and keep paying   November 3, 2008

This is a pay to play game. You have to start paying as soon as you get online. What a genius buisness model. You start by giving them your credit card and like a taxi the minutes buzz by on a meter. You are about $30 in before you get past level one. I think you should just burn dollar bills instead. I would rather pay $60 1 x for a new game then 100's for some subscription.
